Winter is just around the corner and volunteers are needed in the tri-county area of St. Charles, Warren and Lincoln Counties to help staff the Emergency Warming Centers. Emergency Warming Centers are open during the night for the homeless when temperatures are below 20 degrees. There will be multiple Emergency Warming Centers at various churches in the area. Volunteers do not have to be a member of the churches to participate.
Volunteer Training is required and two sessions are now available. Attendance at only one session is required:
- November 2nd from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wentzville Christian Church, 1507 Hwy Z in Wentzville OR
- November 9th from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 405 South Fifth Street in St. Charles, MO.
Volunteers makes a tremendous difference to the homeless in our community as the Emergency Warming Centers keep them safe and warm during extreme weather. Please contact LINC St. Charles County 636-332-5127, Extension 222 for the emergency weather office for more information.
